Why do I loose my license of a registered copy of OFS server after updating to OFS server version 3.63?


Issue:
loosing license of a registered copy of OFS server on Windows10 , Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019 after updating to OFS server version 3.63


Product Line:
OFS server 3.63


Resolution:
When updating a registered OFS version on Windows10 , Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019, the registration status of OFS3.63 may be lost and set to 21 days trial period instead.

Cause:  Elevated privileges are required to resynchronize registration state.

Resolution: Run OFS just one-time with elevated privileges as described below:

1-      Localize OPC Factory Server icon in the Windows program list, under Schneider Electric group.

2-      Right click the icon and invoke More-> Run as administrator menu.

3-      Accept the User Account Control

4-      Restart OFS with no elevated privileges as usual and check in the About Box that the license state is Activated
